Making an accessible colouring book

Have you ever purchased a colouring book knowing you will absolutely Love but sometimes find yourself either overwhelmed or underwhelmed?

Alternatively do you want to colour for the peace of mind it will bring you but don’t know where to start?

Does colouring intimidate you to the point you never actually pick up colouring mediums to begin?

I understand all of that and empathize…. You are not alone.

When I first started designing my first two colouring book projects these were thoughts I kept in my mind while I was designing them. I wanted to create something that was accessible to everyone. I wanted to provide colouring books for every mood.

Sometimes one might want to colour small tiny details with fine tip pens or markers and sometimes one might just want to vibe and flow with the colours and let their mind drift into a meditative state.

My newly published adult colouring book Mandalart has a vast assortment of illustrations ranging from simple repetitive shapes to beautifully intricate illustrations and everything in between.

The colouring book project I am currently working on goes a step further and breaks up animal illustrations into geometric shapes, making it easier for someone to approach colouring them.

What are things that keep you from colouring?

I would love to hear about your journey with colouring as an adult and the challenges you may have faced.

With Love,

Willow
